Rachael Drury-Shepherd
I am a third year textiles student at The University of Derby, specialising in Print Design.

Ambitious, committed textiles student with an eye for thorough detailing. Organised and enthusiastic but maintaining a down to earth yet gleeful approach. Yearning to be creative with a passion for printed textiles combining this with hand and machine embroidery. With experience of using Photoshop CS5 and basic knowledge of Illustrator CS5.

During my time at Derby University I have learnt print making (inclusive of mixing dyes and pigments), knitting on a domestic machine, weaving both on a 8 shaft hand loom and basic software design for a jacquard loom. Specialising in print design I have developed hand and digital techniques much further and am now combining these techniques.

I have just had my work displayed at Graduate Fashion Week 2012, as part of a George at Asda Competition, this is one of my greatest achievements yet. In July 2012 I spent a week at Graham and Brown Wall Covering, where I gained much more knowledge about the design process of an interiors company. I also carried out a two week Work experience at George at Asda in August 2012, where I worked with the trend team to produce the story boards for AW 13/14, I did research with the Ladies Knit team, Print team and Outerwear team.
